Dr. Menendez is a board certified fellowship-trained breast surgeon who is dedicated to the surgical treatment of breast disease, specifically breast cancer. At NWABCS, our mission is to provide you with the most state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical techniques in the fight against breast cancer. His advanced certification and training in breast cancer sets him apart as an expert in the field of breast surgery. He frequently speaks on a variety of subjects related to breast cancer and the technologies related to diagnosis and treatment.
Christopher A. Menendez, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Menendez grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas and graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University. He attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock and then completed a general surgery residency at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine - Cabrini program in New York City. Following residency, he completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at UT-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Since 2008, he has been in private practice focused 100% on breast surgery and treatment of breast disease.
Dr. Menendez is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a Member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBS). He is certified in breast ultrasound by ASBS. He is also the only surgeon in Arkansas certified in stereotactic biopsy by ASBS.
Dr. Menendez was named a Best Doctor in St. Louis by St. Louis Magazine in 2013 and has received the Patients' Choice, Compassionate Doctor Recognition, and Top Ten Doctors awards from vitals.com.
Dr. Menendez frequently speaks to community groups and breast cancer support organizations and his breast lecture topics include Breast Cancer Mythbusters, History of Breast Cancer Surgery and Therapies, Breast Cancer Bootcamp, New Technologies in Breast Cancer Treatment, Breast Cancer for the Primary Care Physician, Breast Cancer and Genetics, and Breast Cancer 101.
Dr. Menendez has admitting privileges at Northwest Medical Center - Bentonville, Northwest Medical Center - Springdale, Willow Creek Women's Hospital, Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers, and Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Dr. Menendez and his wife Ashley live in Fayetteville with their three young children - Kate, Olivia and Christopher.
